Hong Kong stocks edged up in the morning session after three days of losses but there remain concerns that a crisis engulfing Donald Trump's presidency could throw off-track his economy-boosting agenda.

Hong Kong stocks edged up in the morning session after three days of losses but there remain concerns that a crisis engulfing Donald Trump's presidency could throw off-track his economy-boosting agenda.

The Hang Seng added 0.31 percent, or 78.93 points, to 25,215.45 by the break.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged 0.05 percent, or 1.68 points, down to 3,088.46 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, dipped 0.18 percent, or 3.40 points, to 1,852.59.
